Jamie Oliver - just get on and cook will you
Is it just me who finds Jamie Oliver incredibly annoying and hypocritical. He's a great chef and I love the food in his books. I also respect what he's done with his 15 restaurant and with school dinners.
what really gets my goat is his insistence on pushing his family in front of the camera at every opportunity and then complaining about media intrusion every time his picture's in the paper. i watched his italian cookery progaramme last night and he was whinging because there were four or five papprazzi tacking photographs of him leaving to go to italy and his wife crying as he was going. i might have had some sympathy, but then i though 'hang on whats the difference them taking pictures of her crying and a channel 4 film crew getting it all on tape'. if it's such a private moment don't have the film crew there. also, isn't it a bit coincidental a load of photographers were outside his house just as he was about to embark on a trip to italy for a new programme. somebody must have tipped them off, i'm not believing he always has four paparazzi camped outside his house permanently, just on the off chance. the queen doesn't get that kind of press attention.
i timed it and it was 15 minutes before he actually got round to cooking anything. i know it supposed to be a bit of a lifestyle show but there's really no need to film him reading to his kids. for example i just found out hugh fearnley-whittingstall had a wife and kids but you don't see his family paraded in front of the camera and his is a lifestyle show as well.
i just wish JO would cut the cr@p and get down to cooking because after all that's what he's good at.
