So what do we have? Three attacks by ISIS in two months.
Five foiled attacks (so we are informed) foiled but no one knows anything about them.
A security analyst interviewed by the BBC states that we are now numb to the Attacks and just carry on as normal!
Amber Rude tells the public that the police numbers are at their highest.
A former Police Commissioner refutes this and says the numbers of police on the streets of London are because they are working 16 hour shifts and being bussed in from other areas!
Authorities being told of suspected terrorists but cannot deal as they have not got the resources!
And the solution from Theresa May. Dress up in the finest and announce that they will increase custodial sentences. For suicide terrorists!
You couldn't make it up!

Police numbers are not sufficiently lower to make any difference whatsoever when it comes to stopping terrorism.

You need experts to catch these people and they are not necessarily 'police'.

Police have been 'bussed' around for years, nothing new.
// announce that they will increase custodial sentences. For suicide terrorists! //

Did she say just for suicide terrorists? Really?

Can you show me the speech where she did please?
The police and security services are doing their best, you cannot defeat terrorism you kill one and 10 follow.
Fanatics will always follow a path of indoctrination time to stop it at source the radical Islamic priests and the continued use of media.
We are always told that we must to upset certain sections of the community well now they have upset us!
It's been thrashed out here quite a bit;

Youngbog. I did not state that she said there would be custodial sentences for suicide bombers.
I said she was for increasing custodial sentences for terrorists. I am staying my opinion that there is not much point as they are prepared and hoping to die so I can't see the deterrent.
not this last lot...the explosives they were wearing were fake!
needawin, you said, //they will increase custodial sentences. For suicide terrorists! You couldn't make it up! //

The authorities cannot monitor those on the suspect list twenty-four hours a day because, quite simply, there are too many of them. It's impossible.

As far as I'm aware Mrs May said some of those on the list will receive longer sentences.
Longer custodial sentences are not an answer, end of life for perpetrators caught in the act as happened in London.
No problems with financing prisons, paying lawyers and wasting court time.
Actually Theresa May's solution appears to be "blame the internet", which I'm rather surprised isn't getting more scrutiny.
I thought the Jails were full.
Good, reliable intelligence is the only way that we can fight this kind of terrorism. Lets hope we have the man power to step up that activity.

It would also help if the authorities acted upon intelligence reports when hey do get them, which didn't seem to be the case with Abedi.

The names of the London attackers will be released by the Police shortly.....perhaps they were also on the radar of the intelligence people ?
Krom, the internet isn’t entirely to blame, and I don’t think she’s saying that, but it does provide easy access to extremist material.

Mikey, it’s impossible to monitor everyone on the radar. You know that.
A good and final way Mikey is a lump of lead, that cured a few in London.
IS extremism has many ways to capture the 'hearts' and minds of jihadis. The internet does not get all the blame. It would be like saying all fat people are lazy when there are other factors involved.

The internet is a powerful tool for harbouring extremism so taking on the challenge of stopping or at least lessening that avenue is a right thing to do.

I believe there were four main points she made to combine them all and we are on the starting block. With the whistle about to blow. The race is not won on the first step, it takes many steps of varying size and speed to win.
TWR the jails are not only full they are several thousand over capacity, plus one of the worst places for indoctrination of radical Muslims is a jail. Most prisons have about 30% Muslim prisoners already and they are a huge influence on new Muslim prisoners.
I have worked in a prison and there are very few if any prison officers who speak any Arabic , the Muslim radicals speak to new recruits only in Arabic so no officers have a clue what they are saying.
Mrs May's plan to put them in jail longer will have the opposite effect to what she intends once they get out in a few years time!
That woman is so naive it is frightening!
Eddie, //the Muslim radicals speak to new recruits only in Arabic so no officers have a clue what they are saying.//

That can’t possibly be true. Think about it.
TWR....pity that we can't use the lump of lead before they start a terrorist attack.
Sorry typo 'Don't have a clue what they are saying' and I have seen and heard this for myself. I know a few words of Arabic from working in Saudi Arabia and sharing a house with an English > Arabic translator.
Eddie, it can't possibly be true. It simply cannot. Think about it.
How can it not be true. I know from personal expierience that there are a high % of Muslims in jail and that they rapidly recruit any new Muslim inmates to their 'circle'.
