Securing Hardboard To The Floor
8 Answers
I'm putting lino flooring down in the kitchen, bathroom and hallway downstairs and because the floor isn't completely level (chipboard, got damp over time, some flooring replaced resulting in some level differences in places) I'm going to place hardboard sheets on the floor.
What I don't want is to have nails work their way loose over time and pierce the lino and screwing the boards down I need to lose the heads of whatever I use so screwing it all down will be a nightmare as I'll have to countersink all the screws which will result in weakening.
I know pallets and nailed together using nails that just don't want to come back out, what are they please? Like little barbs on the nails but I need largish flat heads.
Anyone able to name them please or even have another way of securing the hardboard sheets to the floor?
