My wife was pregnant in 1985 and the baby was due mid December.
But she had complications and had to go in to hospital for 6 weeks and rest.
But the baby was late and would not come.
Then my wife started to go in to labour two days before Christmas Day.
But the baby would not come and she tried and tried and finished up exhausted and could "push" no more so they let her rest.
Eventually our daughter was born at 10 minutes past midnight on Christmas Day and was the first baby born on Christmas Day in that hospital.
She became the Christmas baby and got a special cot decorated by the nurses. All the visitors to the hospital wanted to come and look at the Christmas baby in her special cot.
Then the press came and took a photo and my wife and daughter had their photo in the paper.
Our daughter will be 32 years old this Christmas Day.
Aaah!

My 2nd child was due Christmas day. We were due to move house early December. Turned out I had a placenta praevia and I was suddenly whisked into hospital for a couple of weeks (at the beginning of December) before being induced on 14th Dec..
Well, things worked (as things do - thanks to family and friends) and frantic messages from hospital probably fell of deaf ears. Result was that just before Xmas I suddenly found myself in a new home, not knowing where anything was, friends fitting washing-machine etc., whilst I breast-fed new daughter with one hand and decorated the tree with the other - much to the delight of elder child. :)

We had 12 days together which for the most part were fun, blissful and snowy days. we walked out into a blizzard and almost got lost, even from his front door, it was blowing a hoolie. somehow it didn't matter. we were together for 8 years until he passed away from cancer. i still miss him
Emmie.....that's beautiful and touching.....and a well deserved best answer....x
Mine's nothing like that but......I had an emergency c section just before Christmas...things went wrong and I was out for the count until.....on Christmas Eve I came to in the dark with just the flicker of candles and heard a sweet choir singing Hark the Herald Angels......
Oh heck...I've died and the angels are singing to me......that's a bummer.....but at least I'm in heaven.....
But it was the nurses entertaining the patients....... :-)
