Deidre, when she was in jail. Ainsley and Malachi from Pop Idol, Charlie Church who used to throw back his head and howl every time Charlotte Church came on. Currently have Haribo, Marlene, Little Nelly and Rio who was born during the Olympics. Mattie (Matt Finnish as his mum Fizz is from Finland). Fizz is ginger coloured!
We once got a ginger tom, runt of the litter, who got named Fluffy by the daughter. Oh how wrong were we? Turned into the biggest, toughest street fighter there was. Even he must have despaired when being called in from his kingdom - ruined his street cred.
At 15 he decided he'd had enough and adopted a family about 400 yards; we still see him and about every 3 months he comes in for something to eat and drink and clears off again.

Called one of my cats Boris. Reykjavik 1972 Boris Spassky v Bobby Fischer(RIP). Great Fischer fan (me, that is, not the cat), but felt sorry for Spassky having to put up with Fischer's spoilt brat antics.
Twenty years later got two cats from a girl at work who was a Cats' Protection League volunteer, and decided to name them - purely from a whim - after Latin poets. So we had, no - not a Catullus), but a Horace and a Virgil with us for a long time.
Then an abandoned cat whom my wife had been feeding and named Mitzi got herself duffed up and gave birth in a neighbour's shed. One day she marched her two (remaining?) kittens down our garden path and into our house. They took to footy, spending hours knocking one of those little plastic balls with a bell inside about, and my wife named them after two of her favourite footballers, the one with the black and white stripes Shearer, and the one with ManU's black away strip Beckham. Beckham and Shearer both girls, by the way.
