Addiction Or Hobby

I've developed an addiction to Lego which started when Little Tiggs was bought a Lego City box set for his 4th birthday and I built it.

We now have nearly all the City collections which I've had to get in extra shelving for but I can't stop looking for more Lego stuff on Amazon to get and its not cheap!!

I think one of the reasons I love Lego is that I find the construction side of it very therapeutic and stress relieving.

Would this be an addiction or a hobby? Anyone else have an addictive hobby that is getting out of control?

If you go without food or don't pay essential bills because you have spent the money on Lego, it's an addiction.
Otherwise it is a hobby and a potential investment.
Chap on telly the other night had bought the house next door in order to store his Lego collection. That's an addiction. You have a hobby.
Hiya Tigger, I still have a big bag of lego (It does belong to my youngest Bro) and used to build all sorts of space craft with it (Sci_fi geek) but never had one of kit ones, but always enjoyed the creativity of it.
You should get together with Sherradk Tigs, she is very into the Lego scene.

Hasn't got that far yet! Thankfully.

Unfortunately, I've got rid of most of the boxes they came in so I don't know if I'd be able to sell them.

If I had a 3 bed house, one bedroom would be solely for Lego.
It's a hobby tiggerblue. A bit of escapism too! Enjoy.x

Hey Ark, I can only like the kit set with instructions. I've nearly got most of the City collection and working my way through the Creator sets. There is a Friends collection which I have my eye on as well! ;o)

I've seen photos of Sherrards stuff on FB Mamy :o)
Do you enjoy Leggo? It's a hobby.

Can you not survive without regular access to Leggo? It's an addiction.

You have a hobby.

It is indeed Patsy and like I said, I find it very therapeutic, albeit very expensive :o/
I've turned into a big Lego fan since I decided to start selling the kids' collection off (they honestly were not interested) - so far I've made £2000 and I've got loads more to sort out.
can you go on your summer holidays without taking it with you?
standing on a lego brick barefooted may cure you of your hobby ...

Do you sell the Lego Sherrard, or do you sell other stuff to get Lego?
Question Author
Very rarely go on holiday, Jno. I'd rather construct Lego :o)

Well I've very nearly trodden on some of the things I've made that Little Tiggs plays with on the floor.
I sell it Tiggs, I'm meant to be getting rid of all it but I'm still buying bits and bobs - Friends sets for thing 1 and we really like the brick heads.
Oh lord...I must have an addiction......and I'm giving Hc's post some thought.....which would I choose?
I couldn't live happily without a stash of wools.......I knit if I'm a passenger in a car/train/ship.......flying is agony....so much wasted knitting time.....
There are some TV programmes I love....but I couldn't sit to watch them without knitting, crocheting or sewing......
If a project doesn't last the whole holiday I'll buy wool and start something.....
I do draw a line at the theatre or cinema....other folk don't go to have a clicking fidget sitting nearby......I suppose I could campaign for a knit and not natter section.... ;-)

Enjoy, Tiggs......repetitive actions and creating something are so therapeutic.......x

I wish I could sell what I've got but Little Tiggs loves playing with everything.

I used to have the same problem with 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles. Got loads of boxes in the loft.
When I was growing up I was obsessed with Lego - I preferred it to my Barbie Dolls.

Lol Gness :o)

Funny you should mention crocheting and knitting. I used to do both many years ago. Only trouble was I ended up with about 5 massive crocheted blankets and several knitted scarves as that was about the extent of knitting and crocheting skills!! Lol
