Do you know where your nearest electric car charging point is ?

For many people, without a driveway, charging can be impossible.

I only know of two in our town. Both in a carpark beside the town hall.
I would imagine before one considered purchasing such a car, having a driveway and being able to charge it would be top of their consideration list.
Doesn’t seem to want to open on my iPad.
I do know and would probably look for more if I was ever in or intended to be in the unfortunate position of owning an electric vehicle.
I wouldn't even consider purchasing an electric vehicle if I didn't have a driveway. I have a few charging points around my area but in out-of-the-way areas, except one which is in a pay and display carpark ☺☺☺
I know of 1 in my nearest town - in a pay and dispaly car park. According to the map there are others - but they are not in public locations!
No, I don't know for the same reason I don't where my nearest public weighbridge is........I have no need of either.

Haven't got the slightest idea of locations and have no intention of finding out tbh.
There are two in my local Lidl car park
They may not be the nearest but supermarket, garden centre and hospital I visit all have them.

You’d have to a special kind of stupid to not make preparations or do research before buying.
Are there any statistics to show how baby times an electric vehicle runs out of juice and needs towing to the nearest charging point?

Would be interesting to know the numbers, it would also be interesting to know whether the Aa, rac and independent vehicle recoverers even know the charging points themselves but guess the first two would have them on their sat navs. The others I could imaging driving around for hours, swearing and frothing at mouth, lol.
How do plan a long trip? For instance from London to Scotland or even to Manchester in an electric car ? Few if any have the range to do such a trip in one go without recharging. Then recharging takes at least an hour or two.
I'm guessing that you got your map link from this page, Mikey:

It does give some suggestions as to possible solutions to the problem of people not having driveways but there's obviously a lot more to be done yet.
i am thinking of buying an electric car, but i have a drive
A Nissan Leaf takes 4 hours for a charge from empty at a home charging point. Some high speed charging points can do a full recharge in 30 mins but it's still a big factor to include in planning a long trip in an electric car.
Best solution I have seen is a house near me that has two electric cars and two charging points running off solar panels. At least it charges free during the day.
What if you want to drive through Europe?
Hmmm, the best solution to saving vital scarce resources is to use twice as many of them?

Go greenies! :-)
yes. the Plume of Feathers in Mitchell, mikey, if you are bringing Sparky down here.
