Free Accomodation-just pay for Evening Meal and breakfast?

Hi All, Firstly I'd like to say I'm fairly new to the site so hope this is in the right section and all makes sense!!!

I'm intrigued by the adverts in newspapers advertising free uk hotel accomodation all year for about �30, you only pay for evening meal and breakfast? The prices of meals are in the brochure provided. Is this too good to be true? Are there loads of tie-ins-like long stays and restricted dates?

My husband and I were wondering about joining, but not sure if its actually a cheap way of travelling around the uk? Wondered if anyones a member on here, or used the service and have any views?

All I can remember, when reading this advert a couple of years ago, is that you have to eat in the hotel .. I think you should check on the prices of the menu before you sign anything - and anyway, when you go away for the weekend or whatever, it is nice to eat outside the hotel sometimes, which you wouldn't be able to do. Some hotels have really bad food, too. Perhaps you could get a review of some of the hotels, online, before you join? I am sure there are other catches as well, but would have to have to advert in front of me with a magnifying glass, before I could tell you what they are ! Be warned, nothing is free in this world. I personally wouldn't commit myself, it seems too good to be true.

Agreed.............try to check the menu before you agree to anything. Free accommodation may involve paying �30 for dinner and �20 for breakfast. Probably not the deal you're looking for. I tend to go with Express by Holiday Inn [brakfast included] or Late Rooms com.

That's interesting i agree with ianess and smurfchops be careful before you deal can you tell me which company was offering such deals i can also recheck and see how that deal is working.
