Friday. All is tranquil out in the countryside. Yesterday was warm and sunny, I got a fair bit done outside, the barbie is out with the garden furniture, I was going to get them cleaned down and ready fro use, that got delayed when a text message, purporting to be from my bank, telling me that they needed to verify my details, the email address it was sent from told me it was a rip off, also someone else had tried to take money out of my account in euros for items I supposedly from a company I've never heard of, so off I went to the bank. cutting a long story short, the banks fraud team were on the case and put a stop to it and found that the fraudsters had opened an online banking account in my name linked to my account. I don't do online banking! they have involved the police. That's about the sixth time recently. The fraud team have said they will keep an eye on my account for me. The bank staff and the fraud team are lovely people.

Good morning to everyone. Shocking that some work shy no good tried to steal from you boaty. I hope they can trace the low life. It’s getting harder to secure your savings with certainty. I keep telling my wife to be more vigilant, her naivety and happy nature though endearing, leave her a little more vulnerable.
Old girl over the road from me was telling me one morning how she had a computor virus and it was a good thing microsoft rang her and fixed it.
I went straight over, the numb nuts had left traces on her desktop screen of their activities. Rang the bank, cancelled the transfer of $30,000. Got the local Plod involved too, fat lot of good that did.
Deleted all trace of their "rear door entry".
Some do fall for these scams otherwise after all these years they wouldn't still be happening
Feeling very much better Ta ...eventually got out yesterday but only because the chap opposite is something significant in roads dept...he phoned in and told them he couldn't get his car out so they'd have to collect him...which they did in a snow plough/gritter ! He was clearly needed at work badly !
