I’ve been with my partner for 15 years and we’ve always had fairly regular sex, about 4 /5 times a month. However, the last few months he won’t make any attempt to instigate sex nor will he reciprocate my advances. He would prefer to masturbate (without my knowledge) even though I have found evidence! Well that's cinched it for me. If he's secretly ... ahem ... "taking matters into his own hands" and is no longer interested in engaging with you, then he hasn't suddenly lost interest in sex, just having sex with you. Coupled with the sudden strange behaviour with his phone, I'd say he was having an affair.
