Just had a weird memory lapse similar to Smowball's a week or so ago.
I was turning up a pair of trousers with Wonderweb, did one leg, went to do the other but found I'd already done it. Felt very strange. I could have sworn I'd only done one leg up til then.
I'm putting this in Chatterbank, because I'm not worried about it. Just wondered if there are any more daft things people have forgotten doing.
At work I have to log temperature checks twice a day. Some mornings I'll see that the previous day's afternoon temp is missing...yet I'd swear I'd done it.
I probably look...but don't write...brain is jumping to next task.
Sometimes when I'm making myself a cuppa, I'll turn round to grab the milk out of the fridge, to find out I've already got it out when I first put the kettle on ..... I turn back round and the milk is sitting there next to the kettle :)
I get worried sometimes when I drive to work. It is about 15/20 minutes away sometimes I really don't remember getting there I just switch to auto-pilot.
It’s quite scary really. Lots of us have such manic lives. I’m working an 18 hr day with little sleep- and as mumstheword has said we do so much on auto pilot. Think our brains are telling us to slow down.....
