I'm Not Racist But .........

Sadly, whenever discussing ethnic issues, I have to try and establish the fact that I am not a racist.
But of course, the phrase, " I am not a racist but .....", is an open invitation, for the politically correct, and "holier than thou, " brigade to strut their stuff, promoting themselves, and pushing down on honest posters like me.

So, "I am not a racist, " but that phrase should not prohibit me from discussing ethnically sensitive issues, which should not be sensitive at all, and we should be able to address the issues of African immigration by shouting from the rooftops, "Enough, no more, send them back!", without denigrating remarks from Liberal Lefties.

I am not sure why anyone needs to start a sentence with "I am not racist, but..." since to me that says "I am about to say something that absolutely smacks of racism but if I preface it with that platitude that's OK and absolves me from any accusations of racism because I qualified it first".

It's a bit like saying "I am not a child abuser but"........ now you wouldnt say that, would you?

Saying something controversial labels me as, "racist."

Beginning my contribution with, "I am not a racist, but . . . . . ., " also labels me as a racist.

So, in future I need to avoid the P.C. brigade and post elsewhere, maybe on Advertising and not interfere with the prevailing Lefty Libfest.

Picking up on Barmaid's point at 9.42pm, it is pretty much the same as when people say "with respect" - when what they actually mean is I have no respect for you.

"With respect" is the most passive aggressive phrase there is. Bar none.
