Phone And Hearing Aids

Wasn't sure which category to put this under....and know a lot use this section...so here goes.

Can anyone recommend a landline cordless phone or two to be precise that has a loop system for use with hearing aids please? OH finds it impossible to hear on the phone with his two hearing aids. It's not the ringer volume he needs but being able to hear with both his aids on. Thanks in advance for any help.

I bought a Geemarc CL10 for my mother. She loves it. So got her two more for other rooms in the house.
This one is corded. But Geemarc also make cordless phones. They are designed specifically for the hard of hearing. And are Hearing aid compatible.

Just Google 'Geemarc'.

If you go to the website of the British Deaf Association, they may have a section on specialised equipment for people with hearing aids and where to obtain them.

I assume that Margarettom is referring to the Royal National Institute for Deaf People, which now uses the title 'Action on Hearing Loss'. The relevant link is here:

(I note that the Doro Magno 2005 is shown as suitable for use with hearing aids and for people with up to a severe hearing loss, so that would appear to be a definite possibility).

Both of these phones are recommended as Best Buys by Which? and both are particularly good for people with hearing problems....both are compatible with digital hearing-aids.

Thanks everyone I will look at the links. It's got to be cordless as he is clumsy and will pull the damned thing off the table lol.... He does have his mobile for hard of hearing which is a Geemarc CL something so I know their phones are ok. I did wonder about BT cordless but not found one yet re the loop system.

^^^I think you're slightly confused...the "loop system" is what buildings have (banks etc) to enable people to hear with their aids. Telephones are hearing-aid compatible if they have the right electronics inside.....which, I see, the BT phone has ("inductive couplar").
