Good Morning Early Birds!

Monday. I reckon this might be the wettest June on record! We're only a third of the way through it. More rain predicted for today. I hope it's dry Friday, the hospice Summer Walk is on, it would be a shame if it was rained off, it's a big money maker. It's also good fun, the two routes, 10K and 5K both go past Winstone's Ice Cream factory. They give every walker a free ice cream. Lovely people, they are good supporters of the hospice.
No idea what to do today, it depends on the weather.
Have a happy day everyone.

I'm an Ambassador for the hospice. The Summer Walk is on Friday evening. It's a good fundraiser for the hospice. It costs £10,000 a day to run the hospice, there is no government funding, so fundraisers are vital. The Summer Walk is one of the most popular.
We don't have a residential unit. We have a Hospice at Home service, where the patient is in their own home with their family around them. A dedicated nurse will visit every day, stay overnight if necessary, and will always be there at the end, to help make the passing as easy as possible, and to help the family at that difficult time. We get no government funding, so it's all financed by fundraising.
Patients do have some daytime at the hospice, where they can get a variety of treatments and do various activities. A free lunch too.
It's a lovely place. My Vera was a patient there twice, they looked after me too. So I will do all I can to help them to carry on with the wonderful work they do.
