I Hate Cooking Dinner!

What on earth do you all do every night?? I hate think8ng up ideas for meals! Personally I’d be happy with a bowl of soup every night but I have a husband and teenager who come in from work and would happily eat a herd of wilderbeest! Their appetites are insane. How do you all come up with different meal ideas every night??

RR I’m not getting them to cook their own dinner when they’ve been working for 12 hours!!

Could it be you have to much choice. an omelette makes a nice change. chopped peppers, chopped onion, mushrooms, chopped bacon, and cheese makes for a good filling.

Burn everything then they will volunteer to cook their own, or nip to the chippy.

I don’t do it much anymore. I buy fish fillets for us to put in the oven when we individually want to eat, or chicken thighs to put in a sauce. Husband doesn’t eat at regular times. He buys his own ready meals too. I know, I’m a terrible wife!

When I used to cook I had favourite standbys like shepherds pie, curry, Bolognese, chilli.

Smow. Stir fries, quick and simple as is pasta, cook the pasta add anything available in the fridge,

I was going to say the same as Anne - get a few jars of stir fry sauces, some frozen stir fry veg, a bottle of oyster sauce and some rice. Then you can knock up a chicken/prawn/pork etc stir fry quite quickly. One of my quick favourites is salmon in the oven with oven chips and a tin of mushy peas.

Exactly guys - of course I don’t want them cooking their own dinner after a full day’s work and 4 hours commute each day!! I just run out of meal ideas. I’d forgotten about stir fries tbh tho x

Or make a batch of lasagne and freeze it in portions then you can just get it out of the freezer and service with garlic bread or salad.
