Car Rental Agreement

I booked a car at short notice (3am) and got confirmation so booked a flight on that notice.
Am now at car rental place and just been told they have no cars!
Help please where do I stand?
I need a car to drive to Norfolk as dad has been taken to hospital hence the last minute dash

Flew into east Midlands Airport got a car from a company that took pity on me and gave me a car and did all the paperwork after I left

The problem is that I needed to book the car before the flight as I cannot fly to Norfolk and have to drive from wherever I land
