Should this be funded by the National Lottery? If this isn't a good cause, I don't know what is.

I would also stop foreign aid (charity begins at home) and make the likes of Amazon and Starbucks pay their dues.

Yes... although because the NHS is supposedly funded, it doesn't count as a charity. Although I would suspect a lot of people would be happier for their money to go there, than to Arts.

Definitely think Foreign Aid should be stopped .We need to put ourselves first.Nobody in other countries have come to the aid of all the people suffering from the terrible flooding but we would have been the first to send aid abroad to disasters .And now we need the money for our own troubles .

Marginal benefit - as in 2015, we gave £15 bln and what the Chancellor indicated today was £300bln plus plus - nice to have, I would say, though.

I don't think the national lottery raises that much to make a difference when tens of billions are needed now.
We are committed by law to paying I think 0.7% of our GDP so the law needs to change. We can't stop it as some of it is essential spending such as winning contracts, getting military support and political influence than aid rather than handouts, so maybe the best we can do is half it which would save £7 billion a year- not much in the scheme of things but every little helps
