When we visit Germany and Austria we love their Semel rolls and they have a distinctive flavour. I have tried to make them in this country but our flour is different and it doesn’t work. Are there any Austrians or Germans out there who can advise me as to what the flour is ( I believe it is graded by a number and I have tried Polish shops but they do not stock the right flour, by taste) and do they have a good authentic recipe? Are there any German shops in the U.K. ? There are French and Spanish! Our CO OP sell amazing frozen French croissants that taste like the real thing. Sadly, we will not be able to visit the continent for some time. Many thanks, Bramley.
