Sad News For Those In The Horse Racing World

Liam Treadwell, the rider of 100/1, 2009 Grand National winner Mon Mome, has been found dead at his home, aged just 34. No cause of death has yet been announced, though reading between the lines (if one can do that to something heard, rather than read) it does sound very much as if it may be suicide. Tragic for his family and friends. RIP Liam Treadwell.

I think that this lockdown is having an impact on the mental health of us all. People with mental health issues at the start are struggling.

It is sad that one so young felt that they have no option.

Sad indeed Ken. I would, if I may, add to these unwelcome events the death of Michael Curran who committed suicide amonth ago after a long struggle with mental illness. He was probably best known as head lad with Gosden and his daily work with Kingsman.
