Diamond Ring
One Friday afternoon an elderly gentleman entered a well known London Jewellers with a young attractive lady on his arm.
Approaching the counter the man said to the assistant 'I would like to see a large diamond ring please'
The assistant showed the couple a ring and said 'this one is £5,000.00'
'Oh no' said the elderly gentleman, something a little larger'
The assistant returned with another, larger, ring and said 'This one is £25,000.00'
The man placed the ring on the young lady's finger and said 'this one will do'
'Now' said the elderly gentleman 'I will give you my cheque for £25,000.00 which you can clear through my bank on Monday morning, and I will collect the ring Monday afternoon.
All parties agreed to this arrangement.
On Monday morning the jewellers rang the elderly gentleman and said ' I am sorry to have to tell you this but your cheque bounced as there was insufficient funds in your account'
'I know' said the elderly gentleman ' Now let me tell you about my amazing weekend.
