Joking aside it would be terrible for the country. We need a strong opposition not some loudmouthed not particularly bright pe4rson. Surely Labour have some better women candidates?

But Labour’s problems go far beyond the identity of the leader.
Sadly it happens when a party is struggling: common sense goes out of the window. The Tories brought in William Hague too soon, then Iain Duncan-Smith far too even sooner :-)
And finally gave up and summoned Michael “something of the night” Howard from the crypt …

As I've said before, where are the Political Giants of yesteryear? People with guts, determination, drive, intelligence and Political Understanding, the likes of Atlee, Bevan, Churchill, Thatcher. Neither Party appears to have anyone remotely approaching such status.

When we had great leaders we had grammar schools, we had a population that understood rights come with responsibilities, and politicians came to the role later after a spell in the real world, industry, the for especially, even the civil service. Being a career politician is not a forge to temper anyone with greatness, to grow you need your feet on the ground.
As far as MT was concerned my best guide to her came from my true red mother in law who lived in East Finchley. She met her on a number of occasions and liked her a lot, she made time for people in her constituency, was thoughtful and respectful of her adversaries.
