I know nothing about football - but my flagpole in front of my house is suitably adorned with the Cross of St George.

I like it, dave. I think I'll make it a permanent fixture. :o)
Oh yes, I've noticed a few more St George flags suddenly started to appear in the neighbourhood... I wonder why, It ain't Cricket ;-)
We've actually cancelled our restaurant for tomorrow evening so we can stay in and watch the match.
Cheering them on but sadly not allowed flags.
Yes, i have the St George flag flying at the moment, but i'll replace it after the Euros for the Union Jack. The Olympics begin on 23 July.
I’m not, but I am working so one of my colleagues can go out and watch the match.

Ye Gods!
Ye Gods, indeed! What on Earth made you book a meal at a restaurant on the night England were destined to be involved in a semi final. :-J

LCG, oh I won't be watching the match. My husband isn't a football fan and neither am I - but we would love England to win - as we like England to win at anything it competes in - and from what I've seen this is a great morale booster for this country - something that doesn't go amiss right now.

Last Saturday, although it wasn't the original reason, Mrs NJ and I booked a table at a restaurant BECAUSE England were involved in a quarter final. The only reason I have an interest in tomorrow's result is because it will determine whether I need to book a table for Saturday (our preferred option) or Sunday (if England beat Denmark).
Don't you like football, NJ?
^^ roy, stop it now! ;)
I would think the police are already checking their battle gear, and planning how they are going to control the lager pigs, win or lose the battle will still commence after they have drunk themselves silly.

Gives the police a chance to put into practice some of their training. :-J
The restaurants were booked a while ago because we knew St Ives would be busier than usual this year. I was unaware that England were playing at the time I made the reservation.

We're going to have a cheese board and some nice red wine tomorrow and cheer for England.
And some of them will more than likely end up in hospital after having bottles smashed over their heads for no reason.
They'll be wearing their 'battle gear'. Or had you forgotten?
