Had U3A committee meeting here today. So yesterday was a big clean up session. OH was doing the hoovering, only going for five minutes, Hoover stopped. He fiddled with it, changed the fuse and still nothing.
Had to go to the Factory shop and buy a new one!
Why do these things happen to me?

You can't trust him with anything can you?
It's probably to ensure you don't ask him to hoover again.
I know the feeling.
I'm the guy waiting for a bus for ages then three come together, just as I drop my bus fare, and whilst scrabbling on the ground to retrieve it, all three busses sail past.
My life is full of such incidents.
I had to be up at half 4 one day last week. Set to ironing a shirt for the morning the evening before and iron went ‘pop’. Trip to Argos!
A few years ago, New Year's Eve, one lot of visitors just gone, another set due pm, sheets etc washing, the tumble drier goes kaputt, trip to buy a new tumble drier! Would have been cheaper to buy new sheets etc..
A few days before a big trip, no passport, couldn't find it anywhere and we always kept everything in the 'travel shoebox', appointment made to go down to Peterborough next day, about £130. I looked for something else half and hour later and there it was, how it got there I never discovered. Peterborough were very surprised when I called to cancel, people usually don't bother.
