New Hp15 Laptop - Setting Up Problem With Languages - Help Please!

I have successfully set up this new laptop by copying what was on my old Acer. My only problem is this.....

I have English as main language and Greek as my other language. On my old Acer in the taskbar at the bottom of screen I used to have a little icon EN which, if I clicked on it, changed to EL and I could type in Greek - this is no longer there and I cannot find how to show it!

I have tried everything that was on the old laptop like going into languages - use language list - open language bar - mark against dock in task bar and tick show text....then there is advanced with more options! I cannot get it into task bar at all!

Just one thing - when I set it up it offered a second language and I clicked on Greek. Could I not have saved that correctly?

Try hitting Left Alt + Shift, this should give you the language change options.

Open Settings/Time & Language
Select Language on the left
Click on Keyboard
Check "Use the desktop language bar when it's available"
Click Language bar options
On the Language bar tab, choose Docked in the taskbar
Check "Show text labels on the language bar"

Thanks The Chair - this is what I did first and nothing works! However - if I start to type in open office it says default English at bottom of page I am typing. If I then click down it lets me type in Greek but this is a manual option and nothing shows in the taskbar!

Open the search tool. (Bottom left - it looks like a magnifying glass).

Type in 'lang' and then click on 'Language settings' (up at the top of the panel).

Under 'Preferred Languages', click 'Add a language'.

Type 'Greek' in the search field and then click on the relevant entry.

Click on 'Next', then on 'Install'.

Thanks for that but.......Greek was already there! I tried what you said and now it only types in Greek!!
So to get back to English UK I deleted the Greek

In the 'Language Settings' panel (accessed as in my first post), you can drag a language to the top of the 'preferred languages' list to make it the first choice for Windows. If you click the 'Keyboard' icon, you can use the drop-down menu to choose between automatically using the first language shown or any of the other languages that you've got installed.

Once you´ve got more than one language installed, press the Windows key and your spacebar together to enable you to choose which one you want to use.

Thanks again Buenchico - that has worked! However I still cannot get the EN/EL to show in the taskbar like my old Acer but I can now type in Greek in Word

Hello again Buenchico
Well - I started from scratch and re installed Greek. So now I have it ok but still cannot get the EN/EL showing in the Taskbar! Never mind because if I press and hold Windows and Space keys the options appear on my desktop and I can toggle between them this way.
