Hi, is this the thread commenting on what Theland said on 13 Aug 2020?
I want to exonerate him. I’m his son, and the day before, I took offence to a comment he made during a discussion we had. It was something that I had miss understood from what he had said. If I had listened and been more patient, I wouldn’t have lost my temper but would have got what he was actually saying.
He had such wonderful forgiveness and patience in his heart for me, because I was at times a very difficult son for him to get along with.
He was the most loving and selfless father anyone could have asked for. I want and need everyone to know that this post he made that night was out of upset at me basically spitting my dummy out when I could have put it right by just being an adult and listening to him. But he was there ready with open arms with no word to say about what we fell out about. He was just so glad we spoke again a few weeks later.
That was him, loving, welcoming and ever ready to talk things through. So very blessed to know him. Xxx

I had a soft spot for your dad, but I avoided anything to do with religion.

Stevie, in all honesty, your dad had many faults, as we all do, but deep down he was a good man. No-one here remembered the thread you refer to, and on the assumption you're the one who accused him of homophobia and racism, I think it's safe to say that he didn't remember it either. You should pay it no mind, I'm sure he forgave you long before the end.
Stevie, as far as I'm aware, your dad loved, and was proud of all his children.
When it came to religion, I think he and I pretty much never agreed. But- I did have a soft spot for him too, and genuinely worried about his health.
Please don't worry too much, easy to say, I know. But parents understand much more than any of us probably appreciate xx
