Hi, need to get a hotel that's easy by underground somewhere between paddington station and west end.
I am going to the west end, but because of my disabilities i want to conserve as much energy as possible, so looking for a premier inn type hotel that's relatively easy and minimal walking somewhere between those two points. London confuses the hell out of me and every time i try it makes me pull my hair out!

I'm assuming that it doesn't particularly matter as to whether the hotel is nearer to Paddington than it is to the West End, or vice versa. i.e. that either end is just as good as bang in the middle:

The Premier Inn in Leicester Square would seem to be an obvious choice. It's within walking distance of Piccadilly Circus underground station, which is served directly from Paddington by the Bakerloo Line. (Alternatively, you can use Leicester Square station but that involves a change of trains):
https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/greater-london/london/london-leicester-square.html

In the same area, there's also one of Premier Inn's 'Hub' hotels at Covent Garden. It's a 4 minute walk from Charing Cross underground station, which is served directly from Paddington by the Bakerloo Line. (Leicester Square is marginally closer but involves a change of trains):
https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/greater-london/london/hub-london-covent-garden.html

There's a Travelodge in Covent Garden, close to Piccadilly Circus underground station, with a direct route from Paddington on the Bakerloo Line. (It's also served by Covent Garden station but only if you change trains en route):
https://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/318/London-Central-Covent-Garden-hotel

At the other end of your route, there's a Mercure hotel just 1 minute's walk from Paddington Station:

. . . and a Hilton within the station itself:
https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/lonpdhi-hilton-london-paddington/

There's also an easyHotel close by:
https://www.easyhotel.com/hotels/united-kingdom/london/paddington

Point A have one of their hotels close to Paddington station too:

Hopefully you can find something from that list to suit your needs. (NB: I've not check on things such as lift access to rooms for people with disabilities. I'll leave you to study the links to find what's best for you). If you need any further help though, just ask!

does that mean its not in the west end? The map just makes me confused!
The Apollo Victoria isn't in the West End. It's in Pimlico. The nearest underground station is Victoria. Some hotels in the area are shown here:

huh! i just assumed it was i the west end :)
There are over 200 theatres in London. Only 39 of them are in the West End!
Further to the list of hotels in my list at 2157, there's also an easyHotel near to the theatre:

everything looks soclose together on the map but i bet it isnt. really sorry you researched that answer to no avail.

If you are just going for the Theatre I would consider staying close by. Victoria Tube station is a very busy one because of the coach and bus station. I would suggest a taxi from Paddington to a hotel near the theatre. If you want to go into the West End for sightseeing etc I would also consider a hop on hop off bust tour. Most you can get off if you want to see something, maybe walk to the next stop and hop on again but consider these can be slow journeys. If you have a day or two in London plan on a couple ot thing you want to do/see and work out the route. Eg. London Eye and river trip. London Aquarium. The Zoo etc
>>> really sorry you researched that answer to no avail

No problem. Part of my original answer remains valid though, as the hotels close to Paddington Station are still worth considering. (To get from Paddington to Victoria, without having to change trains, take a southbound train on the Circle Line or District Line).
There is a Premier Inn about 300 metres from the theatre. Not stayed at this one but never had a problem with any of the others I have used
from Paddington the Circle line will take you straight to Victoria.
