Good Morning Early Birds
102 Answers
morning, Monday already, the working week starts here for some of you. I hope that you are as well as can be, and that your day is a pleasant one, do you have anything planned for today?
if you are about at this unholy hour and want to keep me company then please do, as it gets lonely here on my own.

I am only a figment of your imagination.
Or maybe only a fig leaf of your imagination ;-)

No, I'm half left!
( . . . and as corny as ever!)
I'm basically fine, thanks, although m bod clock is all askew as usual and I don't know whether it's the end of Sunday or the beginning of Monday! (I might go back to bed but I've got to be wake at 9.30a.m. to take a call from my cancer consultant. It should just be a routine quick one though, as long as the result of my blood test on Thursday was OK. He usually takes no more than about a minute for each call!).
I hope that it's not pain that sees you up and about at such a ridiculous hour.

I hope that the pain isn't too bad and that you'll be able to find a solution to it soon.
I'm hoping that the consultant isn't going to tell me off, as the blood test I had on Thursday should have been a fasting one but I only noticed that on the paperwork about an hour before the test! (I phoned my contact at the cancer research department at the hospital though; she said not to bother about it and to just go ahead with the test anyway).
Other than that, and a minor bit of hopping before I run out of loo rolls, I've not got much planned for the day. (I should be getting on with tidying up my house, which is going to take weeks before any real difference will be seen but 'procrastination' is my middle name!)
Have you got any plans for the day?

The kitties (as you call them, or monsters, as I call them) have actually been remarkably good lately. Although Tablo and Chequers still insist upon taking up much of my bed, they do at least tend to stay curled up in the same position for hours now, rather than waking me up at 20 minute intervals all night long!
Just imagine that your favourite hunky Hollywood star is waiting for you at the foot of the stairs. I'm sure that you'll get down fast enough then ;-)
I hope that whatever prodding, poking (and possibly pricking) that the orthopaedic team carries out tomorrow will turn out to be be beneficial for you.

>>> your knowledge and expertise has helped me endless times
What I often wonder about though is just how many people here have had their computers blow up through following my advice ;-)
How is your mobility at the moment? Can you get out to the shops, hairdressers, etc or are you stuck at home all of the time?

You'll be able to treat tomorrow as a day out then!
;-)
Seriously, I really do hope that they can find some sort of a solution to your problems tomorrow. Either that or that you can find yourself a nice toy boy to do all your shopping for you anyway ;-)
There was a point, not so long ago, when the lymphoedema in my legs (and, to put it as delicately as I can, 'in the bits in between my legs') was so bad that I had to find a seat in Morrisons for a while after walking just 50 metres from their car park. At that stage I was looking into getting a blue badge for my car. Some magic treatment from my GP though, together with the start of my radiotherapy improved things so quickly that, just a fortnight later, I went on a 5-mile walk without needing any rest during it! I hope that the medics will be able to find a similarly spectacular solution to your problems too.

I like telephone appointments. (I'd much rather have the consultant phone me in 4 hours time than have to drive 12 miles to the hospital, wait for ages to have a few words with him, pay for my parking and then have to drive 12 miles home again). However I do recognise that there are times when only an 'in person' consultation will do and I hope that you can get to the hospital tomorrow without any problems (and back again likewise, of course!)
