just wondering if anyone here ssuffers with incontinence? (in any shape or form)

I am fully incontinent, and have been for over 10 years now- I just thought a discussion thread on it, (the stigma, what helps us, what doesn't, what kind of skin care rooteen we have) will make the members with it feel less alone- because let me tell you: it is a lonely world when others don't get it.

Poor you. I leak urine more as I get older. 'Having babies," I was told. Did you know that in France, new mothers get free physio to 'get back in shape'. It's embarrassing even with modern pads.
Really strange, I can have been to the loo, emptied my bladder and as soon as I get to the supermkt. 20 mins. later - there I go and I can't stop it completely.

I get ‘sudden urge’ where I have to cross my legs tightly until I feel safe enough to get to the loo without embarrassment. Thankfully, it has only happened at home, not when I’m out.

I forget about it most of the time.

It is possible that my very painful spinal problem could cause lack of sensation and incontinence. Hopefully an op could help but dread a spinal spinal op. I have to make a decision soon.

I've heard pelvic floor exercises can work...even for us oldies.
I'm a bit like cloverjo. Fine until I think about it and I need to get upstairs while holding my knees together. And the cat had better not be in the way!

Sane as Clover Jo and Pasta. I have urge incontinence, but never when out. Strange that, but I believe it's common.

My wife swears by kegel exercises, the midwife told her to do them every day when she was pregnant the first time and she's kept them up.
It's the same 'physio' as new mothers get in France, easy to do and can be done anywhere, anytime.
I do the men's version, also easy and discreet.

I'm on water tablets and also suffer from urge incontinence for which I take tablets that help. I wonder why I don't need to go to the toilet until I turn into the end of my road and then I'm desperate!

Bladder Health UK (which is a registered charity) charges £20 per year for membership, plus a one-off £5 joining fee, but it does run local support groups and have 'phone pals'. (They also have a telephone support line, that's available to both member and non-members). Perhaps it might be of help to you?
