But I do agree that he did not look well. Although the last 24 hours will inevitably have taken their toll. He is 73 (which is no great age, but I imagine that all that has happened recently will have drained him).

He's changed. I think that he looks over-stressed. Things need to calm down. We need him to bridge the reigns of Elizabeth and William and to use the time to facilitate changes. That sounds awfully pompous, not intended to be. He has always had his own ideas and, whether I agree with them or not, he should 'move the monarchy on'.
He needs some space- but he isn't going to get it just yet, I'm afraid. I think he's done well so far.
