A nightmare for them, a truly awful situation. A local law, so perhaps a local judge will be able to grant whatever's needed to bypass it, in at least this case. I have no idea of the legalities involved in such a procedure, but feel it's surely possible - or should be.

This situation is the inverse of that poor little mite Archie Battersbee. His parents fought and lost to keep the life support machine switched on.

I fear if the Barbadian court fails to identify the needs of the parents, this little chap is going to be breathing for a very long time to come.

It is unlikely to be too long, my guess would be days rather than weeks, the youngest person I recall was 16, but they were not also suffering from acute leukaemia. I suspect there is no attempt to actively treat either the bleed or the underlying condition. There's a good chance the bleed will extend, and affect the cardiovascular centre in the brain or he will develop an overwhelming infection from a line or in his lungs and potentially develop multi organ failure. Even young hearts can't keep beating it other systems fail.
