And let me access some serious answers.
For the past few months Ive relapsed into some serious alcohol problems.
Its no secret on AB that I have a long standing alcohol problem.
Its been mostly managed (what you would call a functioning alcoholic)
Ive had my moments at night, but managed in the day.
(Probably get torn apart for this as well)
However, now seeking (since losing my job).... and drinking for England....
A way out.
Am currently engaged (what a joke)
with the local alcohol team.
Ive had 3 different support workers, non of whome i knew of and non of which ive ive had anything to do with.
Been on a course to reduce drinking.
Someone is suppossed to phone me
Doesnt happen...
Suposed to recieve a phone call
re; detox

Was supposed to be contacted by alcohol nurse weeks ago

WAs supposed to be contacted re; a blood test prior to admississin to hospital
never happened
ANwAY If you got addiction issues, good luck...
You going need it.
Seek help and get ghosted in the hope that you will go away
It's all well and good telling nailedit it's up to him...I've no doubt he knows that. But, he still needs a support network that actually *does* something...that actually delivers those calls back, that actually arranges those blood tests...and on and on...
I can only wish you the best nailedit...and hope someone does the job they are supposed to do. Maybe you need to start hassling them...be a nuisance if need be.
If I remember rightly, someone suggested AA to Nailed it but he wasn't interested because of the God aspect of it. He needs to help himself sometimes. AA might have been good for him but he wasn't interested.
Nailedit/ From Google / There is an Alcohol and Drugs Service Complaints Procedure.
Should you wish to ring them, the number quoted is 01482 320606 (Hull).
Or write to Chief Executive, Central Office, 82 Spring Bank, Hull, HU3 1AB
It's not on if all these teams are not carrying out their work as they should do - but, sadly, that seems to be the case these days.
Have to say Nailedit, whatever you think of your current situation you do come across as being very switched on and in control, and your post is very lucid. Hope you are able to work out where you go from here.
Well at least you have us to talk to, nailedit.
NHS support is rubbish these days in most areas.
I can't think of anyone on here who has not taken you and your problems/issues very seriously.
You've had problems with AA. I don't know much about them, but although I believe they are basically a Christian foundation, all the info I have says that they are more interested in helping people to quit drinking than in 'bringing them to God' and that for anyone to mention that would be extremely unlikely. I think you should give them a try. You may be pleasantly surprised/ you may have your suspicions confirmed.
It's worth a try. :)
Yet another GP in the morning, Why?
So that they can brush me off to yet another 'agency'
That does absolutely nothing except to refer me to yet another agenency who refers me to yet another agency ad infinitum?
Who will sign post me to yet another agency.
History repeating itself...
