Neighbour Lets Their Swimming Pool Drain In Our Garden
11 Answers
Last year they had their swimming pool out the back garden (we're all terraced) and instead of responsibly draining the pool, they pulled the plug and the water was left to flood our back garden. I mentioned what happened to us and a fortnight later they brought us back some sweets from their native country as a 'sorry'. However, their pool again this year is out and they sneakily emptied it when I'd gone to bed very late Friday night, as next day our garden was saturated and plants had moved. I thought last year's sweets peace-offering was the end of it, but no. Now today they've filled their pool again and we're wondering if our garden is going to get wrecked again. These are the neighbours who propped up a heavy old carpet against one of our new fence panels without asking and whose thick shisha smoke comes into our home. Any ideas, please?

You will have to speak to them. Suggest ways they could empty their pool without affecting the neighbours, offer to help when they are ready. You could also ask them to confine their shisha to the bottom of the garden, especially during this hot weather when you have your windows open.

Perhaps you should explain syphoning to them.
