Been up a while but trying to do some work - so whilst having a coffee I thought I would pop on and say morning.

It is cold and crisp here in NI - I was hoping to convince himself to cut the grass but I fear I have left it too late - the ground is sodden.  However if he doesn't the grass will be a mess all winter its already too long!

Other than that domestic duties today and some more work before a flying visit to Norfolk to sort out some domestics.

Hope that whatever you have planned brings you joy.

Morning,  what a change from yesterday. Some up to bright sunshine and trees that seem to have changed colour over night

Had a strange day yesterday accepted a last minute invite to a writer's event and book launch. Ended up in a fiction writing workshop, challenging... Then reading a couple of my poems at the open Mic part of the event. Well they say it's always good to try new things.  Lots of really talented people including a girl of around 11 who has already self published her first book, and a brilliant young  Somali poet who I must  add to my book collection.

I love yarn shopping but I have made a fatal mistake of not buying enough for a project and now its appears to be out of stock everywhere in the colour I am after. So I need to come up with a solution.

its a blanked in a furry dark grey so thinking maybe sew those panels together and then border it with a black?

I have some independent woolshops locally, if you post details I can try them for you , if not rather than a black border how about a grey with a different texture, a plain yarn always looks good next to a fluffy.

Thank you for your kind offer - I am going to look when in Norfolk next week and if I still don't get it I will certainly let you know - there are non furry alternatives I need to 'feel' them and see if they have the snuggle factor as its a gift

No probs,   you might want to check out Caron supersoft, it's an aran weight (knits up slightly less) they have a nice soft grey

If it's vapour grey  Amazon seem to have stock but they are not giving dye numbers.  If you had enough for the border  slight variation possibly wouldn't matter

Thanks Rowan that's not the plus version.

plus is furry and normal is velvet, but I suppose I could do the border in the velvet and use the fur as the middle bit

Sheeet! Over £20 a ball on eBay but a couple of sellers have it slight discounts for more than one ball

The other option is Amazon do it but as it comes from America they won't ship to my address but there are ways round that
