I won't watch it and I'd expect both of them to be economical with the truth.

No. I know who's getting my vote and nothing that either of them says will change my decision.

Nope, does my head in mostly, silly US thing. Is anyone going to be swayed by anything anyone says let alone the 2 party leaders?

I'll watch, and I'll trust Starmer more than Sunak. That doesn't mean I'll believe everything he says.

AB living up to its reputation as rarely listening to the views of others and rarely changing its mind. Fortunately, not all ABers are like that.

Question Author

Have you changed your mind, atheist?

Not often heard any polite and persuasive arguments (although I've tried to wrote a few). I'm just like everybody else.

'write'

Question Author

So that's a no.

If either of them told me it was raqining I'd look out the window to check.

Total waste of time.

Anyway mute point as I dont pay for a TV licence.

Question Author

I gritted my teeth and watched last night.  Starmer's performance was abysmal.

Naomi;

What did you think of Sunak's performance?

Question Author

I thought he was more controlled than Starmer and gave reasoned answers - something that Starmer appeared to be incapable of.

I found Sunak tetchy, prone to trying talk over Starmer, and very repetitious as though he had learned his lines and had been drilled into repeating them regardless of what question he was supposed to be answering. He's certainly got stamina, considering what he's been through in the last few weeks.

Question Author

I'd say it was the other way round.

We both have our own prejudices. And I respect your right to have yours.

Question Author

Actually my opinion didn't stem from prejudice.  I don't want either of them.  I just listened to what each had to say and took it for what it was.

I did not watch it but here is the BBCs report

// [Sunak] repeatedly interrupted the Labour leader to dominate some early sections of the debate, notably on immigration.

The Labour leader tried to rise above the hectoring, sighing and giving exasperated responses, but his frustration was evident. //

Question Author

Coming from the BBC that's certainly a case of 'recollections may vary'.
