Based on the true story of a struggling mother who changed the course of her life by embarking on a life of crime.

I watched the first episode and I'm hooked.

I binge-watched it a few nights back, Naomi. Quite a decent drama even with a little poetic licence in the final episode. Which, obviously, i will not go into.

I wanted to watch on, Ken, but the clock told me I shouldn't.

I also binge-watched the 2nd series of Showtrial this week. That's also quite decent.

I've binge heated Joan and thoroughly enjoyed it; especially what I hope turns out to be an award winning performance by the actor who plays her. She was outstanding. 👏

I agree with Ken that Showtrial is a decent watch too. Did he or didn't he? Did he or didn't he? Another fine performance by the lead actor. 👏

Not all that impressed with glorifying a criminal. She said she did it for her child. Maybe if she put half the effort into caring for her child that she does into theft she wouldnt have lost her child.

Ooh I was going to watch this - will def have a look at it now. Thanks!

You know what I'm going to say, Naomi.

We're recording the series and will watch later, Show trial too

Question Author

Barry, why wait until it's screened when it's all available now?

We find the controls much easier to use on our recorder than the streaming services.

We are currently watching Ludwig

Usually can't avoid the ads on ITVX

Question Author

That sounds very odd but each to his own.

I just have a hatred of TV ads and trailers

I agree with you Barry about the ads; plus you can stop and start the recordings on our TV much easier than the streaming.

Maydup, my tv goes bonkers if I try to fast forward or rewind the streaming channels, no control at all. Series and programmes can be taking off at any time, unlike my recordings which sit there until I want to watch them.

I can record 13 channels at a time so it's not a problem for me

barry1010. I ofen watch missed programmes on my computer rather than on the TV as it seems that usually there are no adverts, simply a very short gap between sections. However, if it is a nature or travel film, I put up with the adverts and fast forward through them.

I really enjoyed it but because I'm away from tomorrow I have just watched the last two episodes on ITVX which I never do because like Barry I can't stand adverts.  I always wind through them but will never watch on ITVX again.  Having watched adverts for Gressingham Duck and Foxes Chocolate cookies I now feel starving!!!! (but at least there weren't  cheap funerals or sad charity ones).  Glad to see that Joan had an ending.
