Ashford Castle Vs. The Lodge At Ashford Castle

Are they completely different hotels or does the Castle, a noted hotel that has been on that Amazing Hotels programme own the lodge - has anybody been there and what's the difference in positioning of the two properties as to their customers.....

Thanks for the info - Duh me in not thinking of looking at the corporate ownership..... Have been to the castle before many years ago but not the lodge!
