Hot Water

The (suppose to be) hot water from my shower, comes out luke warm, but from the basin it's hot, can anyone tell me what the problem may be.

Electric or one working off boiler without that info????

It's a tank and immersion heater, it heats the water overnight

Do you have a thermostatic shower mixer valve?

Very possible that the cartridge on the shower needs replacing. The cartridge regulates the temperature of the water coming out of the shower regardless of how hot its going IN. other than that I cant help any further.

Mixer valve possibly. Either faulty or something has got into the valve and partly bunged up the hot side.

Gravity systems can get this problem since there's little pressure to blow out anything that gets into the system. I'd start by disconnecting the hot feed to the valve to check the flow. All kinds of debris can get in via the roof tank. If that's clear, then it's most likely the shower valve become faulty.

I've got the same problem. I have a combi boiler and thermostatic shower mixer, and the temperature is only lukewarm (although lukewarm is just about OK). The shower head drips slightly, and the temp control is stiff, but I am told that there is nothing available to do a replacement of either thermo cartridge or flow cartridge.

I'm probably going to replace the thermo mixer unit but still agonising over the £60 for a new one. ('E'I won't be too pleased - ask TTT for a translation).

Spray some limescale remover on the joint of the control 2/3 times during the day, let it soak into the joint. Then follow up with a silicone lubricant. Spray mine every month keeps it turning freely and easy.
