I think "undersea" has a specific meaning that doesn't include tunnels, Sandy.

But you couldn't 'accidentally' drag an anchor over a cable if it was secured under railway lines.

I do see it would only be a small part of all the cables we now use.

That's fine if the cables link the UK and Europe but if it's not the UK, cables would need to be under water prior to entering  the tunnel.

They already do, there are hundreds in the tunnel already.
