My Poor Almost 16 Year Old Cat Has Heart...

Happy New Year, from a very wet & windy London. Didn't look too bad lastnight when I was watching the Midnight countdown & fireworks/celebrations on TV. Pretty spectacular tho I dread to think what it cost!
Who stayed up and who went to bed? Are we all having a relaxing day today? I'd like to say I was, but I've now got my middle son, his gf & their 2 arriving around midday. As much as I love them I would give anything to cancel as I can barely move this morning due to back(spine) pain, but he has been asking for weeks to visit & finally arranged today so can't let them down last min.
Let's hope that 2025 is a better year for all of us in whatever way we need it to be x

And exactly - after me saying that they never visit, and then for whatever reason something has clicked & they decide to visit I cannot say no can I. Whether it was my recent trek up there to see all 3 of them in 3 diff towns over 2 days who knows ! Ive just told him that my pain has suddenly got much worse (I don't know why, but if feels as tho something is different, I will need to get to the doctor as soon as they have gone) and to just bear with me.
Watching Big Ben strike midnight on TV I could see all the boats on the Thames watching the fireworks etc - the ones that you can hire out etc. God knows what they cost for last night!
Happy New year to you all, we went out to a restaurant, it was a 6 course tasing menu. I thought all the courses would be tiny, but they were not far off full size portions. I had to give up after main course and I think Mr U regretted eating my dessert and cheese courses. Very glad of the walk home.
So tired when we got back I went straight to bed and out like a light.
Gale force winds and rain today so will just be pottering about in the house.
Morning everyone. Sorry to hear you are not feeling well Smow. Hope you enjoy your visitors. I stayed up and watched the "bongs" and the fireworks on ITV.
Got very nostalgic sitting here waiting for midnight, and it got me thinking about waiting for 2000 to arrive. Where have the last 24 years gone? Remember all the doom and gloom about computers crashing, and air traffic controls going out? The banking world was going to be in chaos.
I wasn't even a member of AB then, did it even exist? I remember Wikipedia, but only found AB while looking for answers to Sunday Express xword.
Have a good day all. I think it is definately an "indoor" day, wet and dull here, but at least the wind has dropped.
