Rachel from complaints is completely out of her depth. The bond interest rates rose again today. Mortgage rates will innevitably have to rise. I wonder how many plonkers with a mortgage voted labour!

Some people have to learn the hard way TTT.

Sadly others are being taken down with them.

//He said he had 'confidence' in Ms Reeves, but declined to say she would be in post until the next election - a commitment No10 has given about Foreign Secretary David Lammy. //

He's supported her every step of the way and suddenly a refusal to guarantee her job - but Lammy?  Read and weep!

Question Author

To be fair Lammy hasnt wrecked the Country - yet.  Just makes it a bit of a laughoing stock.

From the BBC Live page:- "Starmer says he has 'full confidence' in chancellor as he's pushed on economy at AI launch"

.....would that be in the manner of a football manager's poison chalice - the full backing of the board?

I think AI is Starmer's "rabbit out of the hat" to deflect attention from the REAL issues. If previous gov computer efforts are anything to go by I won't hold my breath for it delivering benefits.

Generative AI is nowhere near mature enough to do what they want. unless, that is, the objective is to use it to justify the sacking of front line staff. oh and where is the stable power supply for AI coming from, in Mad Milliband's brave new world of windmill farms?

The British currency getting smoked under this incompetent useles UKGov

Every politician knows that AI may prove a help keeping tabs on those annoying citizens, without which a politician's life would be so much easier.

AI probably suggested the solution to Sir 'Stormtrooper'.....

at the presscall following Starmer's AI speech, Anna Gross from the Financial Times asked Keir Starmer if the government planned to make the National Data Library (including NHS data) available to companies for commercial use. Starmer avoided giving an answer. Which probably tells us everything we need to know.
