Hi does anyone have any advice or inspirational stories. I am 32 and work for myself in recruitment.

While I enjoyed setting up my own business, I am pretty bored as I have being doing this for a few years and am not really learning anything new. Plus working for yourself is pretty isolating (I'm a pretty social person by nature) and my business is not repeat so don't have a chance to build up relations with my clients or candidates (I rarely meet them face to face)

I thought a good solution would be to do something new and interesting - I thought of osteopathy - as your meeting people and can do it anywhere - (I fancy moving to Oz in a few years) However its a 5 year course which is pretty goddam long - anyone have any advice

Running my own business is, for me, a joy that I never tire of. It was perhaps the classic analogy of turning a hobby into a job. I suspect for you, you did something you had experience in rather than something you enjoyed doing. A sound enough proposition but in the end the same problems exists as it would if your were an employed person. Your heart, for what ever reason, is just not in it. You could sell your business, and use the cash to get to Oz quicker than planned, get a job in your industry sector, but you'd just be a bored employee (actually easier to cope with because you won't have the attendent responsibilities of running the business) or sell up and use the cash to start a business in an area that you enjoy. You'd need to have a think about what floats your boat, and then see if you can translate it into a viable business.
both myself and a friend have recently got out of recruitment and have never been so happy. he is now selling coffee to restaurants, hotels, bars and businesses and I am an administrator looking for work in Antigua - neither of us has looked back since despite the pay cut life id far more relaxed!
What about the Police Force.
