Feeding Fish

Hiya,

I posted a few days ago about my poorly shub (who's picked up a bit, but is still looking a little glum!)

Anyway, having looked on a few websites (following your suggestions it may be something to do with his swim bladder) they've all suggested i feed him peas. I was just wondering if tinned garden peas will be sufficient? And also, i have two other fish in the tank, will they be ok if they munch on a bit of pea too?

Also, while I'm here, can anyone recommend a way of getting extra oxygen into the tank? I've seen some oxygenating tables, but wondered if something like an airstone would be better?

The other fish will be fine with the peas....tinned or frozen. Just add one but squish it a bit first just to break the shell. Remove the pea if not eaten after 12 hours.

You could also try a bit of live food if your local pet shop sells it. There are very few fish that will refuse live food. Daphnia and bloodworm are good or a couple of maggots if you know any anglers.

An airstone (left on 24/7) will be the best soloution. Some aerating pond weed (elodia) would help too.
