Gypsy or traveller girl singer id help - dont think it was Jem !!

A couple of years ago there was a young girl singer in the uk charts who was a either a real gypsy or a traveller who lived on a site.I thought it was Jem but I am positive it was another girl.


She had her own web site and did not do that well and I am sure it was said she was the first traveller girl to be in the charts.


Please help as this has been doing my head in for months.

It could be Madeleine Peyroux. She was a busker in and around france. Until making it here in Britain. She also had her own website. Not sure if thats the one you are looking for. Check out the site and her music it may jog the memory.

No I am sure it was an English girl who lived on a caravan site in the south east I think.

yeah i was thinking of Madeline Peyroux aswell...don't know why though! Devilhunter can you remember the name of a song or anything like that?

Just had a look at Madelines site and its def not her.All I remember is that she looked a bit like a "Chatham Girl" if you know what I mean - track suit and lots of gold !

There was a girl called Jentina and she was a traveller who had a really crap song called bad ass stripper, she was from south east, she had romany background.
