"lost" tampon

I got myself a bit tipsy on Friday night and can't remember if I removed my tampon or not before going to bed, where I got a bit frisky with my boyfriend. I've only bled a tiny bit since (but this is pretty normal for me) and I've had a feel around and can't find anything inside me so my question is, is it possible for a tampon to become compressed and lodged too far for you to be able to reach it?

The short answer is yes, it is possible. if that has happened and it is not removed, toxic shock can set in and in extreme case this can be fatal. Go to the nurse at your GP surgery and get her to check for you, believe me she will have been asked to do this many, many times!

Yes. Same happened to me except I knew it was there. The panic set ina nd I was so tense neither me nor my partner could fetch it! It was lodged sideways right at the top at my cervix. Get it seen to and make sure you are seen quickly.

yes it is possible for you to lose a tampon and it can become very dangerous if you dont find it ALTHOUGH the same thing happened to my friend and she forgot about it and nothing came about it. But to be on the safe side i would contact your local gp and ask him/her wat is best. there could be a possibility that you could get TSS if you are not careful.

dont worry to much about it im just stating the facts

hope this helpsxxx

I think you ought to go see you GP to be on the safe side, but I'm sure you will be fine - I know someone who also got one stuck and it eventually made itself known a few days later!

I, however, have had part of a condom stuck in there that I didn't know about and it turned up about a week later.

My point was, bodies arre pretty good at flushing things out that shouldn't be there!
You can't "lose" a tampon as there's nowhere for it to go.
I doubt your vagina is large enough (or your fingers short enough) that you couldn't feel at least part of the tampon if it was still up there.
I had a similar problem once and went to my GP who did not flinch. They were able to remove it without a problem and I have been far more careful since!
takes a lot for me to admit this to anyone...2 things..first one is that i didnt know one was lost inside me...over a period of a couple of months, i developed a very nasty smell about me...i was really desperate, eventually it fell out but i can tell you it was very unpleasant, cant even go there to this day..i thought the smell was cancer (this was about 20yrs ago!)..also around this time a girl i knew had same thing happen and it rotten her insides and she couldnt have children..so im told...she had to have tubes removed ..i aint no doc so i dont know for sure but i can tell you it was a very horrible experience for me...be careful...i still dont use them to this day!!!
