Wrong Fuel

I have recently just put in 3/4 of a tank of petrol into my diesel van! It already had 1/4 of a tank of diesel in it. I have drove approximately 4 miles and it is contiously chugging. Is it wise to syphon the fuel out and replace it with the regular fuel and will this fix the problem?

do not drive any further do not pass go! drain your tank completely , purge your fuel system , change fuel filter, should be fine
