Car for sale in Autotrader
I have a car for sale in Autotrader and have received an email from somebody in Sweden enquiring about it and asking a number of questions.
Anybody any experience of this? Is it 'on the level'?
May reason for questioning is that the information he has asked for (number of owners, mileage etc...) were all in the ad!

Thanks guys - the whole cheque thing rings a bell, I seem to recall reading about this sort of thing! Am going to leave well alone and not even bother replying to the email. Even if it were genuine I'm just too bloody bone idle to deal with the logistics of selling a car to somebody from another country.
I would carry on and send him detail on the car, it won't harm anything if you keep personal/bank parts out of it, and many people just want to have some form of confirmation of the cars information as a comeback if anything turns out wrong, as it protects against people hiding behind the pretence that autotrader got it wrong.
Make it clear you require the car to be collected and balance paid in Pounds Sterling, cash upon collection.
If genuine the buyer will be cautious and ask seemingly silly questions, if not you haven't lost anything.
