So do we conform to our star sign "types"

I think the star sign character types are amazingly accurate. I have read some spookily true things about my own Cancerian and my hubbies Aquarian star sign characteristics.

I work on all emotion, he is logical.

Are there any other Cancer/Aquarian couples out there and are you compatible?

I don't think there are only 12 types of people or whatever, just that quite a few of the characteristics that are attributed to each star sign are quite often true. The more you read about it, the more that seems to be the case.

I dont think the likes of Mystic Meg etc predict anything I'm not that gullible.

However as I say the more you read the character profiles, the more true it all seems.

I can't be the only one who thinks so?

No never, but read quite a bit on the internet and just found it interesting.

I don't think it should all be dismissed as clap trap, maybe the newspaper star sign readings are but not the rest of it.

people are not just one sign, they have an ascendant / rising too which apparently alters them and thats why people arent all the same - it also depends on what the date is - if your birthday is nearer to scorpio than saggittarius then you will have some characteristis of that - even more so if you are on the very cusp (22nd-ish)

who knows the truth but it sureis interesting and can be spookily true at times too

(the daily newspaper stuff is nonsense, but there may be something to the personality stuff)

suzi-q its interesting you and your partner are cancerian/aquarian, cos snap so are we,yes i do believe the traits of some people are so true of their signs. Ive always thought this to be really interesting subject.Only trouble is other people dont ! lol. I too think that the claptrap people pridict is rubbish and would also never consider havin a reading, however personalities and traits in some people are really quite scarily accurate.xx

It's ambiguous, it's vague.. It's BS.

You can find all characteristics in all star signs.

Unfortunately people like to believe in this stuff because it creates more meaning in our life. I can understand why people believe in this stuff but the picture becomes clearer when you know the facts.

Leaving aside the vagueness of "quite often", if you take a set of specific characteristics it will apply to some people in any group or cross-section. Take a bunch of people supposedly born under the same star sign, and some of them by law of averages will have those characteristics. This emotional/logical thing - for a start I don't believe you spend the WHOLE of your time being emotional while he works ENTIRELY from a position of logic - that would make you a couple of sitcom characters. But regardless of how true that is, the emotional/logical split will be true of many people no matter what their birth date is. It's often true of male/female couples generally and they're frequently seen as recognisable male/female right side/left side qualities.

I don't find it remotely interesting, and in no way "spooky". Let's say you do believe in it. What are you going to do with it? Use it determine who you're with, who your friends are, what path you take in life? And why is it linked to birth date - why not to date of conception, or date of a particular phase of cell division of the embryo, etc? Do the dates change depending where on the planet you were born?

I don't run my life by it or choose my friends because of it or anything. Just think general characteristics are quite often true. But then I'm an illogical Cancerian so what can I say?

i am cancerian and my husband is scorpio and we are said to be perfectly matched and i feel this is true, i too am very emotional which all cancerians that i know are too, we have 2 cancerians (myself and my eldest daughter) and we have two scorpians in our house (my youngest daughter and my husband) we are very close as we gel very well together, we are so similar in our characteristics to the sibling that we each share the star sign with its amazing but no i dont read all the mumbo jumbo in the newspaper star signs columns
