by choice following exchanges last eveving i have stayed away from this site the context of some of the responses were disgusting, someone is playing a very sick joke on the users of the site, why would anyone give out information to other users re their personal life or more disturbing their children this is not real life and each question and answer should be treated with caution who is policing the content of the responses ? long term users of this site must not believe that any new members must be excluded from their wee cosy conversation nor should they be called newbies ! often the question are never answered and it is just a way for old friends to have a chat, which i do not have a problem with so lets have a site for an exchange of views. has anyone noticed that the : old favourites : never ask any questions ?id be very interested in your thoughts thanks

I have been on AB for about six months now and I have noticed that in general there is an increase in spitefulness and sarcasm, which is a shame really. However I will keep on as I have enjoyed asking, and trying to answer questions.

Hope you dont give in Rgds Al

i Would have to say i agree with you .. when i first joined this site, it used to be great for people asking and answering questions i.e. it's intended purpose. I have always had the view that it should be limited to question and answers as this is the purpose of the site. therefore i have never seen it as a problem if chat posts are reported, or if a post randomly about someones life where they are not asking a question, is reported either . However, this view has only got me into trouble in the last few weeks, resulting in a lot of feathers being ruffled on both sides, and insults flying. i too feel like there is a cosy group of people who think its ok to post their chats, but get upset when others do the same thing, or others post what they deem as "unworthy" stuff, little realising 3/4 of the people that come here don't even know them/care about their chats eg two nights ago when i was hugely berated for saying i would report non chat questions, then the same person said "well i hope you are reporting all *******'s posts, as they're rubbish" What hypocrisy! (and yes, if anyone who was involved in that conversation is reading this it does still rankle) I would say that whether posts of a personal nature are "worthy" or not is moveable, therefore the only solution is not to allow chat posts. Incidentally this will help with the worries that people have over grooming - if it was restricted to questions and answers, no chats would be entered nto
hi kazza, i think that is me you are referring to and i most certainly did not swear when i said it. i think we each have our own opinions and i saw red when i saw you attacking dot's thread about her son. in fact you were attacking the thank you post about her son...i think the reason she had to do that and not thank the people on the original post was because the russian thing and whoever else had made a complete mockery of it. i was wrong going on at you, and i apologise for having a go.
I have to admit, crete, that as it's impossible to know when even a serious question like yours is not really a wind-up from an alias of sponchomp or whifty or someone, I wouldn't get involved in 'chats'. I'd rather chat with someone I can see, not a faceless link. I prefer it as a question/answer site, though that does, of course, include trivia. I hate exclusive practice and in-jokes, as I view it as a form of bullying and it is totally undemocratic.
