Considering the millions (billions?) of galaxys out there, is it possible that the events of starwars actually DID take place a long time ago in a galaxy far far away?

Absolutely! i think that with allllll those galexies, and depending on how the universe is constructed, possibly infinate amount of planets, there must me some sort of inteligent life, more so than us. it's almost a case of knowing there is life out there.

If there's really infinity, then yes... there's a galaxy where it happened just like in the movie, and one where it happened just like the movie except Leia is blonde, and one where it happened just like the movie except Chewie has curly hair, and every possible other variation.... because you can't run out of possiblities in an infinite universe.
