Cyprus day trip to Egypt
I've noticed on the Thomson website that you can do a one-day trip from Cyprus to Egypt to see the Pyrammids etc. Has anyone done this? Was it expensive & how long was the flight? Thanks.

As you can see from the itinerary it is quite a long day, unfortunately with much of it spent in airports, on planes, coaches or eating!
I would say it is worth doing if you feel you would never visit Egypt any other way. It is really worth visiting the great pyramids of Giza.
However the best bet is to holiday in Egypt at some stage and include 2-3 days as part of it for Cairo and Giza.
It is probably also worthy of note (by way of comparison) that I had a weeks holiday in Egypt last year in a 4* hotel for only 240!

When we went to Cyprus we went to Egypt on a mini cruise. Can't remember how much (at a guess 150 each?? - cost included all attractions, meals etc) Travelled on the cruise ship overnight (great fun - won 90 on Blackjack @ casino!!) and arrived in Port Said at 6.30am. Then got on coach for trip to Gaza to see pyramids. Journey was an experience as we had armed guard escort the whole way and all the locals waved to us as if we were royalty!! Pyramids and Sphinx were amazing and then went on 1 hour cruise down the Nile with lunch and entertainment included. finally off to papyrus museum before heading back to boat for journey back. Well worth every penny and because it was a cruise it all felt like part of the experience - not having to wait around at airports. In my opinion best way to see the sights in Egypt without having to go on holiday there. Hope you get to go and hope you enjoy!!! x x
